The Role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving commercial growth, identifying strategic opportunities, and developing relationships across government, transport, renewables, and civil infrastructure sectors.

Reporting to the State Manager, this role combines business acumen with strategic thinking to position the company as a partner of choice in WA evolving market.

You will lead bid development, market analysis, and pre-contract engagement working closely with operations, engineering, and corporate teams to build a sustainable pipeline of profitable work.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that support the company diversification and regional growth objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities across civil infrastructure, transport, and renewable energy markets.
  • Lead tender and bid preparation processes in coordination with technical, commercial, and delivery teams.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, government bodies, councils, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to provide strategic insights and inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive pricing, value engineering, and risk management strategies for upcoming bids.
  • Contribute to the company broader innovation and sustainability goals through partnership and knowledge sharing.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven track record in business development, account management, or commercial leadership within civil infrastructure, construction, or renewables.
  • Strong understanding of WAs infrastructure landscape and key client base (state agencies, councils, Tier 1 and 2 contractors).
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability and experience leading tenders or pre-contract processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results, relationships, and long-term growth.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a flat, collaborative team environment.
